Rugby Union is New Zealand’s national game and also New Zealander’s sporting obsession! In 2001, my husband, a huge rugby fan, asked me to paint a series of rugby paintings based on the Super 12 rugby season.

 

The Super 12 consisted of 12 teams representing New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. I painted each team competing against another team, totalling six paintings of 560mm x 660mm (22in x 26in) each. Medium oil on canvas.
