THERE BEE DEATH Original Art
In the garden, the sun shines on the beautiful roses. We enjoy the fragrance of the delicate petals, lulling us into a sense of contentment. Roses celebrate every important event we experience: birth, love, friendship, attainment, marriage and death. The bee, barely noticed by most of us, pollinates and assists those roses to bloom. And as the bee hovers above the roses, and we enjoy our lives, across the country bees are being up-routed and displaced, moved between long lines of intensively farmed crops, which severely limit their food sources. Bees, like us, need a variety of food to sustain their health. And as the bee struggles to survive and our planet overheats, we watch the canary in the mine, signalling what will come. The bee’s yellow colour drains into the coffin of white roses that once sustained it, to rest in the purple spirit of death… forever gone.
